Cartmel is the home of sticky toffee. It’s something they are very proud of.

That’s where Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding was born – they started baking in the back kitchen of the Village Shop over 30 years ago. Word soon got out and it seemed like everyone wanted some, so they had to move to a bigger kitchen. But however busy it becomes, it’s still always handmade in small batches by a dedicated team who share a passion for puddings, and there’s still nothing to match it. That’s why Cartmel is the home of Sticky Toffee.

Cartmel are a small family-owned business based in the South Lakes area of Cumbria. Their puddings contain 100% natural ingredients with no preservatives, many sourced from the same local suppliers that they found when they started making Sticky Toffee Pudding all those years ago. Cartmel have been declared a ‘Food Hero’ by Rick Stein, and a lot of well-known people have said extremely nice things about their puddings, including Nigella Lawson, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Anthony Worrall Thompson.
